Top 10 questions that drivers ask.
Q – What do I need to do to my car?
A – Always check your car over for safety and come with good tires and brakes. Remove all loose items, (including items within the driver compartment and trunk) check and torque lug nuts, properly air tires to manufactures specifications, make sure there are no leaks of any kind. Seat belts are a must. Convertibles must have a over the head roll bar. Cars will be tech inspected for safety track side.
Q – What do I need to wear?
A – Long sleeve protection, long pants, Gloves and driving shoes are recommended.
Helmets: Snell 2007 or newer may be used. Please review specific helmet requirements visit njmp.com
Q - How much time will I get to drive?
A – You will drive once per hour for about 20 minutes when three skill groups are running. There will be a 1 hour lunch break. You can drive as much or as little as you like. Tech opens at 7:15 am and the day ends at 5:30
Q – How much will it cost me?
A – Tracks vary in price but start around $225.00 per day depending on if you are a member or not. Guests may also participate having a guest fee of $50 additional.
Q – Is there any difference driving on the track compared to the street?
A – Yes. Driving the track offers repetition to practice and master your skills in a very controlled, safer environment when compared to the street. There are no speed limits and the only important rule is that everyone drives safe and has fun.
Q – How do I know what skill group I should be in?
A – If you have never driven on the track we will place you in our ADT (Advanced Driver Training) Level l school to get you started properly. We offer three skill groups starting with White as Beginner, Red as Intermediate and Blue for Advanced track drivers.
Q – How many cars will be on the track at the same time?
A – This depends upon the length of the track and how technical the layout is. Generally a two mile long circuit could manage up to 25 cars without crowding. We will not exceed a safe density of cars for each track we visit.
Q – Is there gas available at the track?
A – Most tracks offer gas for sale but try to fill up prior to coming.
Q – Where should I stay for a two or more day event?
A – Many tracks we arrange camping. We will be working with a hotel that will offer our group a special rate. You can check on our website for details.
Q - What if I don’t like it?
A – Track Time 4 Cars wants you to be satisfied. We will credit anyone who does not like the track after they have driven one session. We also offers a no charge Try The Track program where drivers can take sighting laps during the lunch hour to get the idea.
Q - Where do I stay?
A- NJMP does allow camping, or you may opt to stay in the on track suites (contact the NJMP Concierge 856-327-8000 for availability) or local hotels.
